BIOGRAPHY

ENGLISH (Français dessous)

Axel Oliveres a.k.a. Graham Mushnik, born in France in 1985, started producing his own music in 2005. Having played organ & piano in the bands Slow Slushy Boys and B-Soul Allstars since the age of 14, he developed his skills as a composer and interpreter, and began to combine samples and actual recordings of his organ and other instruments.

His first single, “La Première Cavalcade”, came out the following year on B-Soul Records – low-fi drum loops and frenetic jazzy organs. Soon after this, Graham completed an 8-track LP, “A Distant Wildlife”, more produced and accomplished.

By 2007 Graham had founded Catapulte Records, along with Luke Warmcop and Antonin Voyant, and the LP was released. All 3 moved to London and started a prolific musical collaboration.

Based in London for 8 years, Graham got involved in various projects : writing and producing music for short films and live performances (notably for the Barbican Centre, Glocal Films, Strangeworks, Futeurope), performing in musical collaborations such as New Hamburg by the German national theatre (Deutsches Schauspielhaus), DJing in London venues, teaching piano...

But as a main activity, he has played hundreds of live shows throughout Europe and recorded over 30 albums and singles, as Graham Mushnik and with his bands (Guess What, l'Orchestre du Montplaisant, Malphino, Slow Slushy Boys, Derya Yildirim & Grup Simsek to name a few), as well as running the Catapulte label.

Following the release of his 2nd LP, "On the Phone with...", Graham formed the Graham Mushnik Orchestra with fellow musicians - firstly as a three-piece, and from 2014 as an electric sextet called Group Martini

Graham is now based in Saint-Etienne, France. His projects are more active than ever. The new Graham Mushnik live outfit have now performed at a few venues and festivals and are planning some more...

FRANCAIS
